This bronze figure portrays a young member of a wealthy Roman family.
The figure sometimes has been identified as either Gaius or Lucius Caesar, grandsons of the emperor Augustus (r. 31 B.C.-A.D. 14).
The statue was found on Rhodes, and presumably made there.
