The Horses of the Sun Baroque Marble Sculpture

Apollo Grotto, Versailles

This is one of the three sculptured groups which were originally in the Thetis grotto in the garden of the Versailles Palace. The grotto was demolished to make way for the north wing, and the sculptures are now in the grotto of Apollo.

All marble sculptures are custom made one sculpture at a time.

The artist always starts with a clay model.
